There is something relaxing about the Palouse. I don't know if it is the combination of colors, the white puffy clouds or the rolling farmland. A visit seems to just calm me down.
We just got back from two exciting weeks in Italy. We focused on the northern part and it turned out to be a great choice. The usual tourist locations in Rome were full of tourists but it wasn't very hard to find spots that were a little off the beaten path. Café Greco is the oldest coffee shop in Rome and it is absolutely charming. It is located close to the Spanish Steps and is a step backward to another time.
We had a great day at Cleo's Nature Walk after what looked like a torrential downpour earlier today.
Don Johnson put together a group of 22 enthusiastic photographers in a unique setting. If you haven't been there you should check it out.
HIGH FIVE to the hard working folks that run the Idaho Humane Society. 2016 was another year of 100% placement of animals eligible for adoption. Thanks to a group of 1200 volunteers who make the wheels turn, 2017 should be just as strong. Please join me in supporting this fine organization.
Sometimes we work so hard to find a perfect photo that we overthink things. The weather has been cold and frankly a little ugly and it is hard to get motivated to go out and shoot. Abstracts are the perfect cure. Before you know it you are lost in the beauty that is all around us. I would tell you where I found all this simplicity but then everyone would go there. :)
